Sutton Coldfield's first ever Literary Arts Festival is here - and it's bringing the written and spoken word to life like never before.​

​Across the festival weekend, local poet Emily Holtom will be writing custom poetry on demand on her vintage typewriter, inspired by people, places, and conversations.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Birmingham's canalside, teams will unite for a day of friendly competition for the Dragon Boat Race, all in the name of charity.

​Emily will be performing typewriter poetry on demand for visitors, supporters, and competitors throughout the morning to celebrate the occasion. 

The Queen's Reading Room Festival is a literary festival like no other; uniting authors, experts, and literature enthusiasts for a weekend dedicated to celebrating the written word.

Emily will be appearing on her typewriter in The Poetry Room, alongside featured readings from Nussaibah Younis, Cecelia Ahern, Clare Balding, Louise Kennedy, Larry Lamb, Gyles Brandreth, and Oliver Rowse.​ Whether you’re a lifelong poetry fan or are discovering the joy of verse for the first time, this is a place to drop in, unwind, and enjoy something a little different throughout the day.

Assemble: Derby’s Making Festival is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, celebrating making in all its shapes and forms. Assemble brings together over 60 artists and makers from varied disciplines to share their passion and skills with you and to encourage you to have a go at making yourself.

Stratford-upon-Avon Literary Festival is an exciting mixture of debate, ideas, celebrity author events, workshops and humour. With an extensive community programme, it has one of the biggest educational and outreach offerings of any literary festival.

Celebrating words in all their forms – written, spoken and sung – and launched in 2016, Evesham Festival of Words is a year-long Festival with a main weekend at the end of June/early July. Emily will be performing typewriter poetry on demand for festival attendees.
